Rail Dock Solution - HRR Vertical Storing Rail Dock

(February 5th, 2008) This South Louisiana packaging plant had several safety concerns with their rail car operations. For years they had been using a portable dock board. Space around the rail car dock was limited and storing the portable board when not in use was always an issue. Plant management had safety concerns regarding the use of a portable board in a loading scenerio that involved heavy capacity loads and high traffic. After a near miss accident, this customer contacted RDD for a consultation on a safer more productive solution to their rail car loading operations. RDD representatives surveyed the customer's operation and put together a plan to install a vertical storing hydraulic rail board. RDD managed the installation of this unit and provided the customer's employees operator training and a comprehensive safety plan for their rail car loading operations.
