Licensed & Certified Contractor

RDD is a licensed and insured contractor in Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas and Alabama. Certificates of License can be furnished upon request. RDD is Transportation Security Administration (TSA) approved with all service and installation personnel carrying Transportation Workers Identification Credentials (TWIC). All RDD personnel are OSHA trained, CPR certified, Forklift and Scissor Lift certified and can be site specific qualified upon request.

Fire Door Safety Inspections and Drop Tests

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards require building owners and contractors to have their rolling and sliding fire doors inspected and drop tested annually. This is also a requirement of newly installed fire rated doors. It is imperative you choose a qualified installer who is certified to perform safety drop testing of new doors and RDD is an experienced, qualified fire door installer and certified to perform the required drop tests.

(Section 15-2.4.3 reads:)

"All horizontal or vertical sliding and rolling fire doors shall be inspected and tested annually to check for proper operation and full closure. Resetting of the release mechanism shall be done in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. A written record shall be maintained and be made available to the authority having jurisdiction."

Our trained professionals can conduct an inspection and drop test, check for worn or malfunctioning parts and lubricate mechanisms so you comply with building fire codes. The inspections and drop tests can be scheduled as a separate service call or conveniently included in your Planned Maintenance Program (PMP).
